Minister of Health Reviews Egypt’s First Surgical Operating Capsules Manufacturing Project Using 100% Local Components

In an unprecedented industrial and medical milestone in Egypt, Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Deputy Prime Minister for Human Development and Minister of Health and Population, reviewed Egypt’s first locally manufactured surgical operating room capsules with 100% local components. The project is implemented by Integrated Scientific Group – Arias Egypt, on the sidelines of the Global Conference on Population, Health, and Human Development, held under the patronage of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and concluded by Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister of Egypt.

The Minister was briefed on the project, which represents a strategic step toward the localization of advanced and critical industries in Egypt, through a successful partnership between the industrial sector and higher education institutions. Integrated Scientific Group (ISG) succeeded in signing

the first-ever Egyptian–German agreement for the local manufacturing of surgical operating capsules with 100% local production.

What Are Surgical Operating Capsules?

Surgical operating capsules are fully integrated, mobile operating rooms that provide a safe and sterile surgical environment. They are specifically designed to facilitate surgical procedures in remote areas and emergency situations. These capsules feature easy transportation, rapid installation, and efficient sterilization, in addition to a design that ensures a germ-free environment and fast preparation and cleaning processes, in full compliance with European and international standards.

Project Importance and Its Role in Supporting National Industry

Ms. Mona Khairy Farid, Chairperson of the Board of Integrated Scientific Group – Arias Egypt Factory, stated that this cooperation with the German side, represented by Zatus Germany, aims to reduce import dependency and support the localization of Egyptian industry by manufacturing sensitive components that were previously fully imported.

She emphasized that this project aligns with the state’s strategy to achieve Egypt Vision 2030, by enhancing local manufacturing and meeting the needs of both the Egyptian and African markets with products proudly carrying the label “Made in Egypt”.
